How to elope or get engaged in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon

1. Choose Your Location:

Begin by selecting the perfect spot for your elopement ceremony. The Columbia River Gorge boasts a myriad of scenic locations, each offering its own unique charm. (We keep the best locations a secret for the couples who actually book with us, but some simple googling and you’ll find beautiful spaces to elope in such as bridal veil falls, the flower fields in the gorge, and more.

2. Obtain Permits: If you don’t know if you need a permit or not, ask your photographer! Typically, if it’s just you and your partner, there is no permit needed for most CRG locations!

3. Hire a good photography team!

Don't forget to document your special day with stunning photographs. Hire a professional photographer who is familiar with the Columbia River Gorge and its unique beauty. Make sure they are “leave no trace” photographers who will take care of the nature area during your session.

4. Plan Your Celebration:

While eloping is all about simplicity, that doesn't mean you can't celebrate afterwards! Treat yourselves to a romantic dinner at a nearby restaurant or pack a picnic to enjoy in the great outdoors. Consider booking a cozy cabin or romantic bed and breakfast for a memorable overnight stay. Take the time to savor each moment together as newlyweds and reflect on the beauty of your elopement experience in the Columbia River Gorge.

6. Respect Nature:

As you celebrate your love amidst the natural splendor of the Columbia River Gorge, remember to tread lightly and leave no trace. Respect the environment by staying on designated trails, disposing of waste properly, and refraining from picking flowers or disturbing wildlife. By practicing responsible tourism, you can help preserve this pristine wilderness for future generations to enjoy.
